Obituary of Joan Eleanor Harris
The death of Joan E. (Marney) Harris of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Robert Kaiser, occurred on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Joan was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Edith (Thompson) Marney. Joan was employed as a Home Care Worker for several years. She loved to travel and play Bingo. She enjoyed dancing with her friends at the Seniors Market and the Royal Canadian Legion, #69 Branch. Survived by her children; Danny Kaiser (Janis) of Abbotsford, BC and Joan “Joanne” Kaiser of Toronto, ON., as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her children; Donna Desormeaux, Eleanor, Edith “Edie” and Lloyd Kaiser; brothers, William, Ralph and Lloyd Marney; sister, Jean “Hazel” VanBeelen and brother in law, Cornelius VanBeelen Sr. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, 634-7424, with visiting on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 11:30 am from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment to take place in Cedar Hill Old Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
