Obituary of Robert Hillman Mott
Robert Hillman Mott of Saint John, husband of Hilda Viola (Flagg) Mott, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Belyea’s Cove on November 18, 1930, he was a son of the late Burton and Stella (Webster) Mott. Robert worked for Red Rose Tea, and then as a Stationary Engineer at M. Gerald Teed School until his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed the time spent at his cottage at Belyea’s Cove, where he grew great vegetable and flower gardens. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by a sister, Barbara Parent (Don) of Saint John; his step-children, Philip Munn of Acton, Ontario, Darlene Munn (Harry Harris) of Mount Uniacke, NS, Stephen Munn (Lisa) of Dalhousie, Bernadine Kabbes (Fred) of Hanover, ON, Cheryl MacDonald (John) of Vermont, USA, Dale Munn (Wanda) of Dalhousie, and Janet Hachey (Craig) of Elmira, ON; an aunt, Lydia Webster of Belyea’s Cove; several grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth (Cowan) Mott. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Belyea’s Cove Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Main Street Baptist Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
