Obituary of Edward Ralph Dobson
Edward Ralph Dobson of Grand Bay-Westfield passed away on Thursday February 25, 2010 at his residence. Born in Saint John on August 28, 1934, a son of the late Ralph and Mary Jane (Collins) Dobson. Ed was employed with Maritime Movers for many years before his retirement. He was active in the Rotary Boys and Girls Club, the YMCA, and the Red Chevron Club. Ed is survived by a foster sister, Dede Donovan of Grand Bay-Westfield, and her daughter Crystal, and Crystal’s children Christopher and Brandon; a foster brother, Jack Davidson (Joan) of Sussex, and his son Tim Davidson (Alison) of Rochester, New York, and Tim’s children Matthew and Megan; sister in law, Winnie Sabean and family. He was predeceased by his brother, Ted Sabean. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be celebrated from the Anglican Church of the Resurrection, Grand Bay-Westfield, on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from the church from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Hospice of Saint John. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of the Dialysis Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their excellent care; the Anglican Church of the Resurrection; Ash Court Services for all their help; Maritime Movers for their donations; Scholten’s for allowing us to put a jar in your store, your generosity will not be forgotten; we would also like to extend a special thank you to Bonnie Carson for her wonderful care of our uncle Ed.
