Obituary of Margaret Hope Brown
Brown, Margaret Hope … Margaret Hope Brown of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Robert James Brown, passed peacefully, following a courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on November 18, 1924 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Chesley R. and Edith K. (Harrison) Tait. Margaret had been employed with D’Allairds and prior to retirement was the Assistant Manager. She was a member of Portland United Church. With keen interest she enjoyed caring for and following the interests of her grandchildren and was an avid TV curling fan. She is survived by her two daughters, Edith (Gary) von Richter of Lincoln, NB and Judy (Wade) Blanchard of Saint John; two sisters, Phyllis (John) Wood of Ottawa, ON and Dorothy Heinze of Halifax, NS; five grandchildren, Tony and Brian von Richter, Zachary, Luke and Kayla Blanchard; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and a brother, Robert Tait. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com
