Obituary of Irving Joseph Weeks
The peaceful passing of Irving Weeks, husband of Mary (Montgomery) Weeks, occurred at Seely Lodge on Monday, April 19, 2010. He was born on May 31, 1913 at Bouctouche, NB to the late George and Katherine (Crossman) Weeks. Irving first worked in the family hardware store in Waterdown, ON. Upon arriving in Saint John, Irving worked at Thorne’s as an Industrial Purchasing Agent, until his retirement in 1979. He was a true handyman, he could fix anything. He tinkered in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and designed stained glass. Irving loved traveling, with his wife Mary. He was a member of Saint John Baptist (Mission Church) and Saint Clement. Besides his loving wife Mary, Irving is survived by his brother Ernie Weeks of Waterdown, ON. He was predeceased by his parents, son, Donald; daughters, Kay Wallace, Gay Weeks and Mary Weeks-Mifflin and brother, Lloyd Weeks. Resting at Saint John Baptist (Mission Church) and Saint Clement, 819 Millidge Avenue with visiting on Wednesday from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Church on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 10 AM. Interment will take place in St. Thomas Cemetery, Waterdown, ON at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Saint John Baptist (Mission Church) and Saint Clement Church appreciated by the family.
