Obituary of Kenneth LeRoy Toner
Kenneth LeRoy Toner of Saint John, husband of Leona M. (Demeau) Toner, passed away on Sunday, April 04, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, following a period of failing health. Born at Saint John on January 24, 1927, he was a son of the late Samuel Roy and Violet (MacCullough) Toner. Kenneth attended Fundamental Baptist Church, and enjoyed ski-dooing and boating on the river. During his working life, he owned and operated his own fishing boat. In addition to his wife of 51 years, Kenneth is survived by his children, Lana Totten of Saint John and Samuel Toner of Saint John; a step-daughter, Susan Low (Brian) of Bloomfield, Ontario; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Robert Totten of Saint John; a sister, Dorothy Allaway of Halifax, NS; sisters-in-law Leone Toner of Mispec and Joan Toner of Saint John; and by several nieces and nephews. Kenneth was predeceased by brothers Glendon, Douglas, Ronald (and his wife Audrey) and Alwin; and by a sister, Marjorie Chadwick Cormier (and her husbands Maynard Chadwick and Herb Cormier). Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM from Fundamental Baptist Church, 885 Danells Drive, Saint John West. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Fundamental Baptist Church Building Fund or any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
