Obituary of Paul Douglas McAllister
It is with great sadness that family and friends announce the sudden loss of Paul Douglas McAllister on the morning of January 22, 2010 at his home in Saint John, NB. He was born in Sussex, NB on March 25, 1957. He will be sadly missed by his son, Andrew Paul McAllister of Portland, Maine; his daughter, Rachel Lea (Richard) King; three grandchildren, Dante, Zion, and Virtue Lea; and a dear friend and loving partner, John Taylor of Saint John. He is also survived by his parents, Rev. Aubrey and Viola (Long) McAllister of Minto, NB; his brothers and sisters, Roger (Judy) McAllister of Sussex, Sharon (Bob) Roose of Camrose, AB, David (Shelley) McAllister of Geary, NB; Debbie (Terry) Riley of Calgary, AB, Della Mae (Rev. Eddie) Kennedy of New Caledonia; Stephen McAllister of Fredericton; Cecile Dickenson of St. Stephen, Jane McAllister of Fort McMurray, AB, and John McAllister of Fredericton; many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Paul was employed with the Atlantic Health Sciences Corportation (CentraCare site). He loved to sing, and found great relaxation and calmness in his flower gardens, which he worked on continually during the summer months. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting for family on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 12 – 1 PM, and for friends and relatives the same day from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM from Brenan’s Chapel with Rev. Eddie Kennedy of New Caledonia officiating, assisted by Rev. Terry Messer of Life Tabernacle, Fredericton, NB. Interment will take place in the spring on Snider Mountain, Sussex, NB. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Mind Care NB, or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family, in lieu of flowers.
