Obituary of Constance Erb
Erb, Constance “Connie” D. (Follett)Passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Saint John on April 21, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Ethel (Chapman) Follett. She was the beloved wife of Stewart for over 62 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving children: son Jeffrey (Wendy Perkins) of Calgary, Alberta and daughter Sharon (Joe Pelletier) of Windsor, Ontario; her two granddaughters: Melissa and Hilary Erb; one grandson Christopher Israel, all of whom she adored. She was active in many church, political and community groups, having received many awards. She was proud to be a close friend and associate of the late Honourable Gerry Merrithew having served provincially as his Executive assistant and federally as Constituency assistant. Although a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church, she served faithfully in many offices and groups of the Salvation Army both locally and nationally; having a particular interest in their Auxiliary and the Booth Residential Centre. There will be no visitation as per her request and a private family graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery conducted by Major Carson Durdle of the Salvation Army Booth Centre. The family wishes to thank Dr. Lisa Yang for being not only a great physician but a terrific and compassionate friend through this time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Booth Residential Centre of the Salvation Army, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424).
