Obituary of Hilda Haley

Peacefully on November 25, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones, Hilda joined her Lord and Savoir. She was born on March 14, 1928 in Aldershot, England to the late William and Florence (Pither) Chilton. Hilda was also predeceased by her beloved husband Aubrey (Bud). A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, She leaves behind four sons: Norman (Barb), Robin (Debbie) and Stephen (Rose) all of Saint John and Richard (Jill) of Fredericton; three daughters: Darlene Kenney (Herb), Sherree Brideau (Alphonse) and Colleen Ring (Rick) all of Saint John; brother, Gerald of Australia; sisters: Sadie McDonald and Jean Baxter of Aldershot, England; 15 grandchildren; 13 precious great grandchildren; a special sister, Lorraine Mulyk (Ben) of Whitby, ON; several nieces and nephew and many, many friends. Besides her husband and parents, Hilda was predeceased by her twin sons: Aubrey and Byron; brothers: Kenneth, John, Clive and Billy and sister May. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday and Friday From 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 10 AM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Following the interment, a reception will be held at Brenan’s Reception Centre. For those who wish, remembrances to Saint John regional Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit or the Canadian Diabetes Association, would be appreciated by the family.
