Obituary of Anne Marie Votour
Votour, Anne Marie … Surrounded by her loving family the passing of Anne Marie Votour, wife of Basil Votour, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, October 23, 2009. She was born on July 25, 1938 at Tracadie to the late Arthur and Alice (McMahon) Ferguson. Anne Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and was an avid gardener, card and bingo player. Besides her husband of 52 years Basil, Anne Marie is survived by her seven children: Steven Votour of Saint John, Michelle Lewis (Michael) of Quispamsis, Bradley Votour of Fredericton, Heather Lavin (Michael) of Saint John, Shawn Votour (Linda) of Moncton, Monique Hughes (James) of Quispamsis and Troy Votour (Donna) of Yarmouth, NS; three brothers: Guy (Bertha), Edouard (Donna) and Bernie Ferguson; four sisters: Hedwidge Hayward, Doris Murphy, Annette Harrity (Bob) and Ruby Kingsley; three sisters-in-law: Joan, Rose and Marie Ferguson; 17 grandchildren: Amanda, Andrew, Jessica, Sarah, Emily, Cassie, Jennifer (Mike), Andrew, Joey, Steven, Christopher, Calvin, Rory, Logan, Dustin, Justin and Chad; two great grandchildren: Mariah and Ayden; several nieces and nephews. Anne Marie was predeceased by her daughter, Shelley Clifford; daughter-in-law, Sabrina Votour; seven brothers and two sisters. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The mass of Christian Burial will be held from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Saint John Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
