P
Paul James posted a condolence
Thursday, July 4, 2024
I am my uncle Emery Brooks nephew Paul James. My mother Leona was his sister. I was born in Ontario and never got to meet my uncle Emery until I was 11 years old. I found my uncle Emery to be a kind and caring person. He always treated me very well and I appreciated his thoughtfulness and advice. I still remember some things he said to me 30 years ago or more. My father was a difficult person quite often. But my uncle Emery always treated my father respectfully and with kindness. Over the years my uncle Emery and I saw each other occasionally. He and his wife, my aunt Ruby, were very good people to me and to my oldest daughter. My uncle Emery offered me thougtful advice and always had a calm, thoughtful approach to people. I know Emery loved the Lord and wanted to serve Him as best as he could. I only met my cousin Derrick (their youngest son) once and I always regret not having gotten to know them all better and been closer to my uncle Emery and his family. I look forward to seeing him again when Jesus Christ one day returns to this world, or calls me home to heaven. I was blessed having known my uncle Emery. Thank you uncle Emery for your kindness, thoughtfulness, and willingness to always listen and try to respond in a helpful way. I appreciated you.
