Obituary of Audrey R. LeClair

Audrey LeClair of Saint John, wife of the late Clifford (Pop-O) LeClair, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Loch Lomond Villa, surrounded by her most cherished possessions on earth, her family. Her lifetime career and passion was being a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Born at Saint John on January 31, 1924, she was a daughter of the late William and Katherine (Reynolds) Buckley. She was a member of the Saint John Art Club, and had a special talent for painting, writing poetry, and she was an amazing cook. Nana was renowned for her taffy apples - enjoyed and still talked about by three generations of neighbours and friends. She was a stellar dancer, made all the more so when paired with her stellar partner and beloved husband, Clifford. Audrey’s family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to the numerous people who helped to cloister her in such a nurturing and loving environment through the last stages of her journey. Dr. Pam Jarrett; Mary Nelson; Jan Seely and the staff of Seely Lodge; and last but not least, Chris Tayes and staff at the Loch Lomond Villa (who became our extended family) share our utmost gratitude. Audrey is survived by her son, Corry LeClair (Jodi) of Saint John; grandchildren Michelle Childs (Andy) of Quispamsis, Kris LeClair (Andrea) of Rothesay, and Joy Mitchell (Matt) of Rothesay; great grandchildren Connor, Jackson, Olivia, Cassidy, Austin, Anderson, and Mallory; sisters-in-law Connie Buckley of Saint John and Dora Buckley of London, Ontario; and numerous nieces and nephews. The last surviving member of her immediate family, Audrey was predeceased by brothers Percy, Roy, and Arthur Buckley; and by sisters Dorothy Drew, Aeriel Wilson, Renee Stevens, and Rhona Schmidt. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
