Obituary of Jean Audrey Oldfield
Surrounded by her loving family, Jean Oldfield passed away peacefully at the St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Three days past her 83rd birthday.She was a daughter of the late Clifford and Ada (Dunham) Coleman. She worked for many years at Ricky’s Convenience Store in the North End as well as the Admiral Beatty Hotel and Eastern Furriers for a short time. Jean is survived by two daughters: Audrey Dunn (Gordon) of North Bay, ON and Linda Gautreau of Saint John; two sons: Donald Oldfield of South Bay and Ronald Oldfield (Sheila) of Quispamsis; six grandchildren: David, Heather, Peter, Shelly, Shannon and Ronald; seven great grandchildren: Jordan, Macey, Chase, Isaiah, Zachary, Emily and Brea. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Waldo Ira Oldfield in 2003; son-in-law, Norman Gautreau and all of her siblings: Charlotte, Edward, Arthur and Frank Charlton and Lloyd, Warren, Laura, Roy and Grace Coleman. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday 7-9 PM and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel, on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 2 PM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
