Obituary of Joanne Marie Boisvert
Joanne Boisvert of Saint John, wife of Valmond Boisvert, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 28, 1955, she was a daughter of Joseph McLeod and Rhoda (Mason) McLeod. She spent most of her life helping others, even from a young age; she postponed a career to help care for her siblings. Even when struggling with her own illness, she was more concerned about her children and her family than herself. Joanne had a unique way of finding humour in almost anything, which brought much joy to both herself and others during her lifetime. She is survived by her husband, Valmond Boisvert of Saint John; her mother, Rhoda McLeod of Hampstead; her father, Joseph McLeod of Hampstead; her children, Carla McLeod, Freeman McLeod, and Samantha McLeod, all of Fredericton; two grandsons, Dakota McLeod-Flowers (“Sweet Pea”) and Dayton McLeod-Flowers (“Bear”); her brothers and sisters, Frank McLeod (Liz) of Vancouver, Allan McLeod (Marilyn) of Saint John, Joseph McLeod (Betty) of Hampstead, Connie Westman (Paul) of London, ON, Charlene Pitre (Hardie Thorne) of Saint John, Bill McLeod of Vancouver, Jimmy McLeod (Eva) of Hampstead, Kimberley Saunders (David) of Hampstead, George McLeod (Linda) of Saint John, and Krista McLeod (Kevin Pitre) of Hampstead; a special cousin, Brenda Adams of Saint John; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joanne was predeceased by a sister, Pamela Marshall. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 7-9 PM and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 12:05 PM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to a Living Memorial would be appreciated by the family.
