Obituary of Jean Muriel Case
Jean Muriel Case of Saint John, wife of the late John Howe Case, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John on September 18, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Leland and Grace (Thorne) Ryder. Jean was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother who was devoted to her family. She was a member of a card group for over 50 years, and will be missed by her many friends. Jean is survived by three sons, Gary Case (Mary Jane) of Grand Bay-Westfield, James Case (Patricia) of Quispamsis, and Robert Case (Elaine) of Saint John; a sister, Velma Miller (David) of Vulcan, Alberta; sisters-in-law Helen Case of Saint John and Lorraine Murray (Frank) of New Minas, NS; grandchildren Andrea, Meghan (Scott Weatherhead), Michael (Shannon), Andrew (Meghan), John, and Sara; great grandchildren Myles, Annabella, and Connor; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Jean was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Ryder. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday from 7-9 PM and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
