Obituary of Paulina Victoria Hogan
Surrounded by her loving family, it is with deep regret we announce the passing of our beautiful mother Paulina V. Hogan of Seton Court in her 85th year, on September 5, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was the wife of the late John E. Hogan. Born in Clover Valley, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Lavinia (McIntyre) Shears. She leaves to mourn her 10 children, daughters Tamarra (Ken), Linda, Diane, Sheila, Pamela, Cheryl and Leona. Sons, John (Arlene), Arthur, Allan (Krista). 3 sisters Marjorie, Vona (Randolph), Winifred (Roy), 27 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 8 sisters and 9 brothers. Mom was the most selfless, committed and non judgmental woman we could ever know, with her loss she will be deeply missed by her children, family and all that knew her. She had a passion for life and was dedicated to the following groups. The Order of the Royal Purple Lodge # 202, Women’s Auxiliary of the Black Community, Life Member Hospital Auxiliary, on the Board of Directors for Prude and Past Member Congress of Black Women of Canada. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 11:00 am from St. John Baptist and St. Clements (Mission Church), 815 Millidge Avenue. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Saint John Regional Hospital, Heart and Stroke of New Brunswick, Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
