Obituary of Marie A. Evans
Marie A. Evans of Quispamsis, wife of the late David Robert Evans, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at her residence. Born in Chipman, New Brunswick, on January 2, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Newton and Viola (Clark) Legassie. Marie was a member of St. David’s United Church, where she also attended the Senior’s Group, and was a member of the Kennebecasis Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed bowling as well as cooking and baking, especially sweets. Marie is survived by her children, Daniel Evans (Eileen) of Vancouver, BC, Marcia Thibodeau of Quispamsis, and Mark Evans (Erin) of Rowley; grandchildren Allan Thibodeau (Sue), Jodi St. Pierre (Mike), Emily, Connor, and Colin Evans, David Evans, and Kelly Grass; great grandchildren Nicolas and Samantha St. Pierre; sisters Ellen Moore of Minto and Joan Whitman (MacKenzie) of Kempville, ON; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and to her parents, Marie was predeceased by brothers Lloyd Legassie (Mary) and Burns Legassie (Noella). Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM from St. David’s United Church, Rothesay. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
