Obituary of Robert 'Goggie' Goguen

Goguen, Robert “Bob” “Goggie" - The death of Robert D. (Bob) (Goggie) Goguen of Saint John North and formally of Champlain Heights, husband of Joan (Campbell) Goguen, occurred after a brief illness at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, September 28, 2009. Bob was born in Saint John on March 19, 1942 and was a son of the late Alyre and Margaret (Bowes) Goguen. He was a life long resident of Saint John and was educated in local schools. Bob worked for the city of Saint John with the asphalt dept. and as a bartender at the former Sportsman’s Club. Bob worked for 32 years with Irving Paper retiring in 2007. Googie was a past member of the Adanac Club and the Buffalo Club. Bob was very active in playing pool, bowling, darts, shuffleboard and enjoyed fishing and his family. He is survived by his wife; one son, Robert W. Goguen (Ingrid) of Nauwigewauk, one brother, F. Charles “Chuck” Goguen (Nancy)of California USA; two sisters, Lenora Garnett (Murray) and Linda Caissie, both of Saint John, his grandson, Robert Joshua Goguen and his godson, Tre Jordon; as well as several nephews and nieces. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Padadise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Waterloo St. on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 12:05 pm followed by cremation. Burial will take place at St Josephs Cemetery Monday at 10 am. Remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Following the service a reception will be held at Brenans Reception Center.
