Obituary of Beatrice Loretta Charlton
The death of Beatrice Charlton of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Frank Charlton, occurred on Monday, February 8, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, 3 weeks before her 94th birthday. Born in Lorneville, NB on March 2, 1916 she was a daughter of the late George W. Cunningham and Eleanor (Knox) (Cunningham) Lane. Beatrice was a past member/officer of Nomads of Avrudaka, Order of the Eastern Star and Pythian Sisters, Loyalist Temple # 13. Survived by her loving daughter, Karen (Leo) McPhee of Nerepis, NB; one daughter-in-law, Eileen Pitt; one sister, Margaret Anderson of Saint John; six grandchildren, Keri-Ann (Glen) Burpee of Nerepis; Sheri-Lynne McPhee of Public Landing; Terance L.F. (Nicolle) McPhee of Nerepis; Joyce (Blair) Albert of Moncton, NB; Lisa (Dale) Porter of London, ON and Eleanor E. (Charles) Chapman of New Westminster, BC; several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sons, Herbert George (Jimmy) Pitt and Paul William Pitt. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424. In keeping with Beatrice’s wishes there will be no formal visitation. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 10:00 am from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment in Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the I.W.K or any charity of the donor’s choice.
