Obituary of Katelyn Anita Robarts
Katelyn Anita Robarts passed away at her home surrounded by her family on October 19th, 2010. She was the beloved daughter of Scott and Mary (Boyd) Robarts and sister to Gareth. Kate lived a courageous and inspirational life. She expressed her desire to increase awareness of pediatric leukemia, and make a difference in the lives affected by it, through her association with Canadian Blood Services, Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation’s Molly Appeal and the Pyjama Program on the oncology unit at the IWK Health Centre. Kate attended Rothesay Elementary, Rothesay Park and was currently a student at Rothesay High School. Kate loved school and at the end of her grade 8 year was awarded the RPS Outstanding Student Bursary for her academic achievement, community service and student leadership. Kate had a love for reading, swimming, tubing, skiing and thrilling rides. Just recently she fulfilled her dream of sky diving. Besides her immediate family, Kate is survived by grandparents; Anita and Doug Bush of Rothesay, Jack and Nancy Robarts of Advocate Harbour, N.S. and Gerald Boyd of Johnville and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Kate was predeceased by her grandmother Margaret Boyd and her great grandmother, Nanny Deedee, Doris Green. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424, with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 12 noon from Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Rothesay, NB. Interment in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Upper Golden Grove. Remembrances may be made to IWK, John T. McMillan Jr. Memorial Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.brenansfh.com
