Obituary of Gerald Douglas Ferris
Gerald Douglas “Gerry” Ferris of Saint John passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John on August 30, 1948, he was a son of the late Carl Alan and Catherine Elizabeth (Norrad) Ferris. Gerry was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for several years, and then worked as an Orderly at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. He returned to Saint John in 1993, and since that time has become an avid Sea Dogs fan and season ticket holder. He was a member of Edith Avenue Baptist Church, and also enjoyed doing puzzles at the Museum, and volunteered his time at the Loch Lomond Villa. Gerry is survived by his siblings, Roger Ferris (Sandy) of Pierrefonds, QC, Nora Lou Ferris of Saint John, and Phillip Ferris (Caterina) of Dorchester, NB; nephews Andrew, Steven, and Daniel; and nieces Bonnie, Tricia, and Joanna; aunts Carole Rolston of Kettleby, ON, Crystal Krick of Stoney Creek, ON, and Pauline Ferris of Saint John, as well as several cousins. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, April 4, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 10:00 AM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
