Obituary of Edith May Verner
Edith May Verner of Saint John passed away on Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Newcastle on February 13, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Edith (Galley) Dickison. Edith was a member of the Maple Leaf Glade #1, and a lifetime member of the R.O.A.B. Sunday Darts which was the greatest enjoyment in her life. Edith is survived by one son, Mickey Verner; five daughters, Rose (John) Hallett, Marilyn (Bobby) Verner, Debbie (Rick) Verner, Darlene (Darrell) Verner all of Saint John and Kimberly (John) Verner of Fredericton; six sisters, Marilyn (Marcel) Lavoie, Jackie (Frank) Verner, Mary Dickison, Lois Martin, Barbara Dickison, Carol (Mike) Dickison; one brother, Gordon Dickison; god child, Billy Dickison; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and lifetime friend, Bernice Crandlemere. Besides her parents she was predeceased by one son, Kevin; granddaughter, Angela Verner-Roy; sister, Joan Dickison; brothers, Albert, Stanley and Bobby Dickison. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 2:30 PM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Palliative Care Unit of Saint John Regional Hospital, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
