Obituary of George Ernest Craig
Craig, George Ernest … The unexpected death of George Ernest Craig of Saint John, NB, husband of Donna Craig, occurred on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the QE II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, NS. Born in Saint John on May 23, 1944 he was a son of the late Arthur Richard and Doris Lillian (Iliffe) Craig. In his younger years George was a boxer and more recently ran on eleven occasions in the Terry Fox Run; he was a member of RCL Branch # 69 and an avid pool player at the Golden Mile Billiards. He was a former employee of the City of Saint John, Rink and Parks Department. He is survived by his wife, Donna; two daughters, Debra (Larry) Middleton of Rothesay, NB and Christine (Robert) Duplessis of Saint John; five grandchildren: Jason (Melissa) Middleton, Stephen (Heather) Middleton, Stephanie (Tom) Middleton, Mark (Charnele) Duplessis and Katie Duplessis; one great-grandchild, Marly Middleton; five siblings, Enoch Craig, Evelyn Jenkins, Elsie (Carl) Lounsbury, Leslie (Marg) Craig and David (Anita) Craig; a special nephew who is like a son to George, Arthur Kincade. Predeceased by his parents and a brother, Arthur R. Craig Jr. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. There will not be any visiting at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 11:00 am at Greenwood Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick. www.brenansfh.com
