Obituary of Mary Rose Marr
Mary Rose “Molly” Marr of Saint John, wife of the late R. Foster Marr, passed away on Monday, March 08, 2010 at the Ridgewood Veteran’s Centre. Born at Shoreham, England on October 17, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Barbara (MacIntosh) Gray. Molly was a graduate of Saint John High School, and was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps as a Lieutenant. She was an avid curling enthusiast, and was a member of Thistle St. Andrew Curling Club. Molly is survived by two sons, Robert M. Marr (Linda) of Saint John, and David F. Marr (Jane) of Saint John; a son-in-law, Roy Robichaud of Saint John; grandchildren Lisa, Leanne, Danny, and Trevor; and six great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Molly was predeceased by a daughter, Heather Robichaud; and a grandson, Chris. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 PM from the funeral home.
