Obituary of Stephen F. Defazio
The death of Stephen Frederick Defazio of Springfield, NB, husband of Peggy (McKay) Defazio, occurred on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Sussex, NB, on June 5, 1951, he was a son of Douglas and the late Pauline (Armstrong) Defazio. Steve worked for several years as an Auto Body repairman. He was an avid Stockcar Driver who loved fly fishing, hunting, antique cars and watching NASCAR. Besides his wife, Steve is survived by his son, Troy Defazio of Rothesay, NB; daughters, Susan Thibodeau (Allan) of Quispamsis, NB and Tracy Defazio-Miller (Troy) of Saint John; brother, Mike Defazio (Judy) of Saint John; grandchildren, Kayla, Samantha, Bradly, Tanisha, Joseph, Abby and Ally; sister-in-laws, Bev Defazio, Joan Wilson (Doug); brother-in-law, Wayne McKay, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and his loving cat, Gucci. He was predeceased by his brothers, Wayne and Joseph Defazio. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Saturday from 7-9 and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 31, 2010 at 10:00 am from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in St. Jude’s Cemetery, Bellisle Creek, NB. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or a living memorial would be appreciated by the family.
