Obituary of Mary Isabel McDougall
Mary Isabel McDougall of Saint John, wife of the late James Henry (Harry) McDougall, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital in her 90th year. Born at Saint John on April 3, 1920, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Webster (Thompson) Pye. Mary was a life long resident of Saint John, and was a member of Holy Trinity Parish. She enjoyed watching sports on television, especially curling and golf. Mary is survived by her children, Sandra McDougall of Sussex Corner, Sharron McCluskey (Michael) of Rothesay, David McDougall (Patsy) of Quispamsis, Elizabeth (Beth) McDougall of Shediac River, and Harry McDougall (Angela) of Quispamsis; a brother, Everett (Roy) Pye (Shirley) of Saint John; grandchildren Jillian, Natalie, and Michael McCluskey; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mary was predeceased by brothers Harry, Edward (Ned) and William Pye, and by sisters Winnifred Steeves, Alice Walsh, and Catherine Sullivan. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 12:00 Noon from Holy Trinity Church, Rockland Road. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
