Obituary of Edward Abraham Garnett
Edward Abraham Garnett of Willow Grove, husband of Kathleen (Pigott) Garnett, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Garnett Settlement on June 18, 1943, he was a son of the late Walter and Mary Eva Garnett. Eddie worked in the construction industry, and was a member of Local 131 of the Heat and Frost Insulators. He was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law and Grampie, and attended the Garnett Settlement Christian Church. In addition to his wife of nearly 44 years, Eddie is survived by sons Wayne (Beth) of Saint John, Kevin (Rochelle) of Fredericton, and Brian (Sherry) of Baxter’s Corner; his daughter, Tracy of Saint John. Grampie will be sadly missed by Ashley, Alex, Taylor, Tyson, and Tori, who were indeed the apple of his eye. Although there will be no visitation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM from the Garnett Settlement Christian Church, with Rev. Paul Stewart officiating. Interment will take place in the Garnett Settlement Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Romero House Soup Kitchen or to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
