Obituary of Debra L. Saunders
Surrounded by the love of her family, Debra went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 56. She was the daughter of Kathleen (Hayes) and the late Murray Folkins. Born and raised in Saint John she attended local schools; she graduated from NBCC Saint John and NBCC Moncton. Debby was very proud of her heritage and her loving, hard working parents, brothers and sisters. She cherished every moment she spent with her precious children and grandchildren. Debby drew great strength in her Christian Faith. She loved to read and study scripture. Her favorite scripture being, Matthew 6:33 “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” Nothing made her happier than cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Debby is survived by her daughters, Sheri (Dave) Cassidy, Tricia (Scott) McIllwraith; sons, Patrick (Julie) Alexander, Paul (Raygene) Alexander, Jamie (Vanessa) Alexander; treasured grandchildren, Madison, Alex, Grace, Hannah, Evan and Carter; sisters and brothers, Valerie (Harvey) Beck, Lynn (Rick) Holt, Kathy (Byron) Livingstone, Paul (Ann) Folkins, Jack (Rose) Folkins, Randy (Donna) Folkins, Theresa (Curtis) MacMillan, Krista Bietz and Kirby Folkins, several nieces and nephews and a special aunt, Sylvia Hayes. She was predeceased by her husband, Gary Alexander; father, Murray Folkins and infant sisters, Diane and Susan. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held from Full Gospel Assembly on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 9:00 AM. Interment to take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Romero House or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
