Obituary of Eldon W. Callahan
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Eldon "Cal" W. Callahan, husband of Helen J. Callahan, which occurred on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. Born on July 27, 1923 in Sharon, MA, USA, he was a son of the late Harry Callahan and Dunna (Perry) Callahan-Consitt. Cal was a veteran of WWII serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He worked for Lawson Motors for several years and retired from the City of Saint John as a Mechanic. Cal was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 53. He was also a member of Silver Falls United Church and a former member of Centenary Queen Square United Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Helen; several nieces and nephews. Cal is predeceased by his sister, Isabelle McKnight, step sister, Muriel Connor and step brother, Bill Consitt. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 6-9 pm. A Royal Canadian Legion Service will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 12:00 noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish remembrances may be placed to Silver Falls United Church, St. Mary’s Band or donor’s choice.
