Obituary of Armand Joseph Richard
Richard, Armand Joseph - Armand Joseph Richard, Saint John, husband of Alice (McLaughlin) Richard, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Thursday, March 29, 2012. Armand was born on April 16, 1925 in Rogersville NB to William and Virginia (Boudreau) Richard. Armand worked for the dry dock in Saint John for 29 years and retired in 1991. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening, he took great pride in keeping his garden and lawn free of dandelions. Armand also enjoyed playing bingo and crazy eights. During his stay in the hospital he enjoyed painting birdhouses and giving them away as gifts. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Shirley Ann Richard, Saint John, Sheila (Bob) Richard, Saint John, Roger (Marilyn) Richard, Saint John, Arnold (Kathy) Richard, Drayton Valley AB, Gary (Wendell) Richard, Victoria BC; daughter-in-law, Kathy Richard, Drayton Valley, AB; chosen daughter, Jeannie Graves; brother, Auguste Richard, Moncton; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Armand enjoyed his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had hugs and kisses for everyone he met. He is predeceased by his son, Emery Richard; grandson, Roger Richard; brothers: Henrie Richard, George Richard, Marcel Richard, Edgar Richard, Dosithe Richard and Adelard Richard; sisters: Albertine Cormier, Marguerite Richard, Jeanne Montpetite, Geraldine Gallant, and Alice Richard. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Church, Bayside Drive, Saint John on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 12:05 noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Canadian Cancer Society and the Alzheimer's Society.
