Obituary of Pauline Harper Best

With heavy hearts the family of Pauline Harper-Best would like to announce that she passed away peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice on Sunday, November 11, 2012. She was born on September 11, 1939 in Saint John to the late William and Hazel (McGrath) Knox. Pauline worked as a superintendent in Toronto for many years and retired as a superintendent for the Lantern House in Saint John. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid bingo player, card player and was a member of the Senior Citizens Group in the City Market. Pauline is survived by her children: Shelley Craft (John), Terry Harper (Lorrie) and Kimberly Gray (Rick); their father, Robin Harper (Evelyn); six grandchildren: Adam (Katelyn), Kimber, Keith (Greg), Kory (Katlyn), Mikayla and Cynthia; one great-grandson, Kane; brothers: Donald (Ethel) and Edward (Corey); sisters: Marie Woodland and Joan Garland (Lloyd). She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Reg Best and brother-in-law, Cecil Woodland. Pauline’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all the Staff and Volunteers of Bobby’s Hospice for the extraordinary care and compassion they showed during Pauline’s final journey. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 12 noon. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
