Obituary of Marguerite Sarah Mott
The family of Marguerite Sarah Mott of Saint John, wife of the late Guy L. Mott, announces her passing which occurred peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on November 17, 1915, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Ann (Cogger) McBride. She was employed in the grocery business at various stores in the greater Saint John area. Marg and Guy owned a restaurant across from the old Forum on Main Street, and a grocery store on Adelaide Street for many years. She was an Honorary Member of the Saint John Policemen’s Protective Association. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Rocmaura Nursing Home for the care and compassion given to our mother over the last six years. Marguerite is survived by her children, Barbara Hanson (Ronald), Myrna Ringuette (Jean Claude), Donna FitzGerald (Gordon), and Gary Mott (Sharon), all of Saint John; twelve grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, being predeceased by her sister Vera Griffin and her brother, Gerald McBride. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Rocmaura Foundation, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
