Obituary of Barbara Anne Malcolm
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Anne Malcolm on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born May 2, 1947 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Anne (Smith) Malcolm. Barb graduated with her Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Brunswick before obtaining her Masters of Library Science from Simmons College in Boston. She retired as a Senior Executive with the Saint John Free Public Library. Following retirement, Barb travelled extensively, especially enjoying her time in Europe and the United States. She travelled to many European countries, including a Mediterranean Cruise. Barb will be deeply missed by her aunt and uncle, Ralph and Claire Murray, whom she thought of as her own parents; her special cousin, John Murray, and his wife Jane; and their children, Jennifer and Andrew. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery in the spring. Remembrances to the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home Inc. would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
