Obituary of Shirley Elaine Harnish
With her family at her side the death of Shirley Harnish, wife of Franklin Harnish occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, June 22, 2014. She was born on November 17, 1930 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan to the late Lawrence and Opal (Gehon) Smith. Besides her husband Shirley is survived by her daughters: Gail Stenersen of Pembroke, ON and Connie Wilkinson (Roger) of Australia; step-children: Murray Harnish of Saint John, Franklin ‘Jake’ Harnish (Bonny) of Saint John, Michael Harnish (Brenda) of Willow Grove, Wallace 'Ginch' Harnish of Edmonton, AB; Tanya (David) Dempsey of Saint John and Troy Harnish (Bonnie) of Saint John; 5 grandchildren and several step- grandchildren. Shirley was predeceased by her first husband, John Stenersen; daughters: Beverley and Linda; sister, Carol and grandson, William. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday June 26, 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to the IWK, World Vision or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
