Obituary of Robert James Wilson
The death of Robert Wilson of Saint John, husband of 54 years to Geraldine "Gerry" (Hubbard) Wilson occurred on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 29, 1939, he was the son of the late Allen and Mildred (Riser) Wilson. Prior to his retirement, Bob had a long career as a Longshoreman. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially liked to fish. A dog lover at heart, he always enjoyed the company of his canine companions. He was also known to look forward to a good game of bingo. He will be sadly missed. In addition to his wife Gerry, Bob is also survived by his children, Robbie Wilson (Pat) of Moose Jaw, SK, Millie Evans (Ray) of Petawawa, ON, David Wilson and Jim Wilson, both of Saint John; sister, Joan Porter of Saint John and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Melissa Wilson; as well as sisters, Shirley Gallant and Marilyn Wilcox. Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held at a later date to be announced. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances made to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue would be appreciated by the family.
