Obituary of Clifford Atwood MacBurnie
With great sadness, the family announce the passing of Clifford Atwood MacBurnie, husband of the late Phyllis Joye (Farris) MacBurnie, on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born October 7, 1937 in Port Lorne, NS, he was a son of the late Norman E. and Louisa B. (Lewis) MacBurnie. Clifford worked as a Funeral Director and Embalmer with Brenan’s Funeral Home for 35 years, until his retirement in 1996. Clifford is survived by his daughters, Susan Gallivan (Terry) of Maugerville and Roxanne White (Darrin) of Cambridge-Narrows; sister, Marion Bubb (Blaine) of Saint John; sisters-in-law, Lois Martin and Carol MacBurnie; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Clifford was predeceased by his brother, Sherwin; and sister, Vivian McFarlane. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Bobby’s Hospice for their support and care of Clifford during his time there. Your kindness will not be forgotten. To honour Clifford’s request, there will be no visiting or funeral service. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
