Obituary of Bertha Amelia Brown
The passing of Bertha Brown of Saint John, NB occurred on May 31, 2015, at Embassy Hall in Quispamsis. She was born in Saint John on March 15, 1917, the only daughter of the late Gordon J. Sr. and Janet Sulis Leek. Bertha was predeceased by her husband Capt. (Ret’d) James Brown; as well as her two brothers, Capt. (Ret’d) Harold W. Sulis, MM. and Gordon J. Sulis Jr. She accompanied her husband during his tour of duty with the Allied Occupation Forces in Germany after WWII. Bertha is survived by her nephews, Thomas Longon (Coreen), James Sulis (Judith) all of Saint John and Dr. William Sulis of Hamilton, ON, grand nieces, grand nephews, great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place at a later date in Fernhill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances to the SPCA Animal Rescue would be appreciated.
