She was the daughter of the late George C. and Ethel L. (MacLaren) Vaughan. After graduating from Saint John High School she entered the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing from which she graduated in 1948 as a Registered Nurse. She is survived by her husband Graeme F. Somerville, son David B., son Andrew D. (Joyce), daughter-in-law Patti all of Saint John and daughter Ruth L. Somerville of Perth-Andover NB. Also surviving are five grand children, Raven (Bradley) Taylor, Eric (Julie) Somerville, Christopher, Michael and Caitlin Somerville, and three great-grandchildren Alyssa and Rhys Taylor and Owen Somerville. She was pre-deceased by her eldest son, Peter G. Somerville, of Fredericton, in 2008. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Following cremation a private family burial service will be held. There will be no visitation by request of the family. The family also requests that flowers not be sent.
