Obituary of Marie Christina Parlee
The death of Marie Christina Parlee occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 following a 40 year battle with cancer. Marie was born in MacDonalds Point, NB and was the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Parlee. Marie is survived by her sister Shirley (Robert) Rinehart of Saint John, niece Shelley (Richard Lee) Rinehart of Saint John, nephew Scott (Jenny Hewitt) Rinehart of Saint John and long time caregiver and friend Belinda Thomson. Marie was a lifetime member of Cornerstone Baptist Church (formerly Waterloo Street Baptist). She was a member of the first graduating class of Belleisle Regional High School in 1949 and a graduate of Modern Business College. Marie worked for Mutual Life until her retirement due to health reasons. She later owned and operated the gift shop in Keddy’s Fort Howe Hotel for many years. The family wishes to thank Dr. Peta Brunsdon and Dr. Walter Smolinski and the staff of Bobby’s Hospice for their care and compassion. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
