Obituary of Kathleen Alma Collins
Kathleen Alma Collins (1919 – 2014) Kathleen (Kay) Alma Collins passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 10, 2014. She was born in Saint John, N. B. and resided "uptown" all of her life. She graduated from Saint John High School. She was employed for 21 years at Agnew-Surpass, a couple years at Irving Oil and later was employed and retired from Toronto Dominion Bank (after it merged with Central Trust) where she worked in property management. She was a member of the Corner Stone Baptist Church (formerly Central Baptist). She was greatly interested in all things concerning family and always was current on sports, politics, national and community events. She loved to read and knit. She was the daughter of the late John and Alice (VanWart) Collins and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She had three brothers: (Roden, Donald and Gordon) and three sisters (Eleanor Robinson, Marguerite Callan and Ruth Allan). She is survived by several nieces and nephew and several great and great-great- nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her nieces Nancy (Allen) Stokes and Vicky (Collins) Mills. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (506-634-7424) with visitation on Monday, April 14th from 9:00- 10:00am. The funeral service will be held at Brenan’s on April 14th at 10:00am. The family would appreciate donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
