Obituary of Phyllis Marie Irving
It is with great sadness that the family of Phyllis Irving of Kings Way Care Centre, Quispamsis and formerly of Saint John, wife of the late Crosby Irving announce her passing, which occurred peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at her residence. Born on October 13, 1930 in Montreal, she the daughter of the late John and Agnes Drummond (Stewart). Prior to her retirement, Phyllis was employed 25 years with NBTel and also enjoyed her time working as a Walmart Greeter. She was a woman of great spirituality and always took comfort in her faith. Phyllis loved to paint and in her younger years, she enjoyed a good game of darts. She will be sadly missed. Phyllis is survived by her children, Gloria Shears of Florida, Joseph Hector (Deborah) of Saint John, Sharon Hector (David) and Ritchie Hector (JP) all of Ontario and Norman Hector (Richard) of Saint John, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and second husband, Phyllis was also predeceased by her first husband, Edward Hector; daughter, Louanne Booker; sons, Lawrence and Donald Hector; as well as brother, Joseph Drummond. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Kings Way Care Centre.
