Obituary of Eric Gerard Burchill
Jerry passed away peacefully on May 31, 2015 at the Loch Lomond Village. Jerry was the son of Charles and Beulah, born May 30, 1930. He married the love of his life, Helen Wilcox on February 12, 1955. They loved life, travelled, danced, and most of all cherished their family for 59 years. Jerry was a carpenter by trade and ran a construction company for many years. He also worked long shore. He was very involved in the Simonds Lions Club for over 38 years. Jerry took great pride in their many accomplishments. He was the president in 1993-94 and was "Lion of the Year" twice. Jerry is survived by his three children; Brenda (Romeo), Eric (Ann), and Charles (Nancy), 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and one brother Paul. Besides his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his wife, Helen and great-grandson, Hayden Poirier. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Wednesday, June 3 from 2-4 and 6-8. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joachim`s Parish on Thursday, June 4 at 11 am. Interment will take place at St. Joseph`s cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Music Therapy Program at the Village or to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation. The family would like to thank all the hand-picked angels who staff the Loch Lomond Village, for their love, care and devotion. Dad spent the last few years of his life in this loving atmosphere. He was home and loved it. You all have a special place in our hearts. Jerry is happy now, he is with Helen.
