Obituary of Judy Paulette Corey
Judy Paulette Corey passed away on May 24, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on January 25, 1943, in Back Bay, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of Charles and the late Goldie (Hooper) Cooke. Judy graduated from Back Bay High School in 1960 as Valedictorian of her class and continued on to receive a Teachers license from Fredericton Teachers College. Judy was married to Randall Corey on July 27, 1963; and they were married for over 50 years. Judy worked as a teacher for District 8 School Board in Saint John. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling with her family on many kinds of trips. She was also actively involved in Church Women’s Missionary Fellowships as vice president, treasurer and also president for a while. She and her husband were involved in Atlantic Missions Inc. for many years, she as secretary-treasurer and Randall as director. Through these ministries they were privileged to meet and work with many missionaries from Spain, France, India, Africa, Philippines, Estonia and Morocco, This was truly a privilege as they travelled to visit most of the missionaries in their native country as well as to have many visit their home, here in Saint John. Judy is survived by husband Randall, sons Dean (Michelle) Corey; Dwight Corey, brother Dale Cooke (Roma); granddaughters, Sophie Corey; Charley Corey; Clarissa Corey and grandson Ashten Corey; several nieces and nephews, and other family members; Gerald and Betty Corey; Harry and Beverly Corey and many friends. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her son Mark Corey. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be celebrated from Brenan’s Chapel, on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to Atlantic Missions Inc. or a charity of one’s choice, would be appreciated by the family
