Obituary of Sharon Ellen Miller
It is with great sadness that the family of Sharon Miller announce her passing at the age of 69, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Fred and the late Grace (Betts) Healey. Sharon is survived by her loving husband David, her children: Nick (BettyJo), Vickie Wynn (Ken), Janice Jennings (Tony), Pam Northrup (Mike) and Mike (Marie); her siblings: Sandra Smith (Doug), Victor (Marilyn), Fred (Anne), Danny (Ann-Marie) and Peter (Cathy); 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Grace; nephew, Robbie Healey; and her great great-niece, Hailey Clark. Sharon’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life. Her hobbies were knitting, cross stitch and card games with her grandchildren. She played softball when she was younger and loved playing Bocce ball. She was also a 40 plus year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #62 Ladies Auxiliary. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, 634-7424. To honor Sharon’s request, there will not be any visitation. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 2 pm at Trinity Church in Kingston, followed by a celebration of Sharon’s life at the church hall. There will be a family interment held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Dolan, Dr. Comeau, Dr. Smith and the nurses and staff of the Oncology Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital, 5A South.
