Obituary of Robert Morris Harper
With great sadness, the family of Robert Morris Harper announce his passing on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital after a period of illness. Born August 28, 1955 in Amherst, NS, he was a son of Hilda and the late Jason Harper. Robert worked with the Department of Social Development’s Family and Community Services in the Housing department. He loved fishing, baseball, and hockey, and played for many bands over the years. In addition to his mother, Robert is survived by his daughter, Erica Landry (Matt); son, Michael Cass-Harper; granddaughter, Breanna; grandsons: Robert and Mason; and sisters: Carolyn Stadhard, Gloria Fairfax (Donnie), Patti Webber (Rob), and Nicole Keirstead (John); the mother of his children, Betty Ann Cass and several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Robert was predeceased by his son, Robert Taylor Cass. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Mary Jane and the staff of Saint John Regional Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and care of Robert in his final days. Your kindness will not be forgotten. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 12 noon at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel.
