Obituary of Florence Marie Sullivan

The family of Florence Marie (Horgan) Sullivan, wife of the late Harold Sullivan, announce her passing, which occurred on January 6, 2016 at her residence. Florence was born in Saint John on March 5, 1924 to the late Luke and Mary (Sweeney) Horgan. Florence was an avid traveler. She had many cherished trips overseas to Ireland, frequent trips to New Hampshire and Maine and even visited the Amish Villages of Pennsylvania. Florence was a member of St. Joseph's Church CWL for 68 years. Florence is survived by her two daughters, Margaret Sullivan and Jacqueline (Joe) Ferrar; daughter in law, Carol Sullivan; sister, Marie Crawford; special granddaughters, Kerri (Troy) Titus and Katie Ferrar (Mark Carpenter); great granddaughters, Madison and Anna Titus; sisters in law, Rose Horgan and Bertha Horgan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Aside from her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Wilbur, Jerome and Joseph Horgan, sister Geraldine Higgins, and son Bernard Sullivan. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visitation on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 5-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joseph’s Church, 4347 Loch Lomond Rd., Saint John on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held in the spring at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s H.O.P.E. Centre, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
