Obituary of Wayne Allyn Wilson
The family of Wayne Wilson announce his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 10, 2016. Born in Saint John on October 6, 1939, he was a son of Allen and Vivien (Godsoe) Wilson. Wayne joined the Royal Canadian Army in Fredericton in 1957, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 69. Before retirement, he worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Canada Post for 20 years. Wayne is survived by his children Wayne (Sharon) Wilson, of Saint John; Mary Wilson of Moncton; Brian (Phyllis) Wilson, of Barnesville; and Aimee (Jolene) Magee, of Saint John; his brother Vernon (Mary) Wilson, of Saint John; sisters Marlene Munro, and Valerie "Lynne" (Gordon) Allaby, both of Saint John; grandchildren, John, Jamie, Timmy and Mike Wilson, Brice and Karyln Anderson, Dean and Hailey Magee, and Chloe and Abagail Desormeaux; and five great grandchildren. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Brian Wilson. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visitation being held on Tuesday, January 12 and Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Legion Tribute will be at 7:00 PM on January 13, 2016. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place in the spring in St. Martins Community Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials in memory of Wayne may be made to the Douglas Avenue Christian Church.
