Obituary of Gertrude Mae Pitt
After a long and fulfilling life, the death of Gertrude Pitt, wife of the late Borden Pitt occurred at her residence on Sunday, March 30, 2014. She was born on May 20, 1917 in Westfield to the late Walter and Elsie (Pitt) Campbell. Gertrude was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she devoted her life to her family. She was a member of Main Street Baptist/RiverCross Church and enjoyed many years at Sister Sheila's Manor. Gertrude is survived by her daughter, Lynn O’Leary (Pat) of Saint John; grandchildren: Sheri Fowler (Neal) and Jeffrey O’Leary (Kate); great-grandchildren: Emily and Ben Fowler; sisters-in-law: Mabel Marion and Winnifred Campbell and several nieces and nephews . She was predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers: Harold, Kenneth, Eugene and Gerald and granddaughter Melanie Dawn O'Leary. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to Bobby's Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
