Obituary of Paul Evans Ogden
The death of Paul Evans Ogden of Saint John, beloved husband of Frances (O’Leary) Ogden occurred on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 8, 1933, he was the son of the late Harry Gilbert and Amy Grace (Evans) Ogden. In addition to his wife, Frances, Paul is also survived by his children, Mark (Pam nee Brown) and Gary (Andrea nee Buote) all of Quispamsis and daughter, Ellen Martin (Will) of Walnut Creek, CA; as well as precious grandchildren, Eric and Mitchell Ogden and Avery and Thomas Martin. Prior to his retirement, Paul was employed for over forty years at Commercial Equipment. He was past president of East Saint John Federation Baseball and the Saint John Speed Skating Club. Paul was an avid harness racing fan and he always held a special place in his heart for animals. Most of all, he treasured spending time with those he loved and will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Paul’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the wonderful staff of the 5th Floor GEM Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The exceptional care shown towards him and the support shown towards our family will never be forgotten. A special thank you to Rick Benson for his comforting ways and to Rev. Greg McMullin and Rev. Wally Corey a heartfelt thank you for the spiritual guidance. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The memorial service will be held from St. Mary and St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, 646 Westmorland Road, Saint John, on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at 11:00 AM.
