On Wednesday, January 15, 2014, Elmer Trott, husband of Dorothy (Shipley) Trott went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He was born on May 16, 1921 in Wirral to the late James and Josephine (Hoyt) Trott. Elmer was a veteran of World War II. He served as a mechanic with the Royal Canadian Air Force in England. Elmer was a professional driver for BA, Gulf and Ultramar for most of his life until his retirement. After his retirement, he focused a lot of his energy in his volunteer work for the East Saint John Food Bank and Camp Tulakadik. He was a member of Edith Avenue Baptist Church; serving as a deacon, greeter, Sunday school teacher, trustee, teller and youth bus driver. He loved spending time at the Town and Country Campground in his RV. Besides Dorothy, his wife of over 64 years, Elmer is survived by his sons: Peter (Pauline), David, and John all of Saint John; brother, Allan Trott of Grand Bay-Westfield; grandchildren, Sarah and Joshua; nephew, Donald and nieces: Patti and Mary. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Donald and Irwin; sister, Muriel and sister-in-law, Jackie Trott. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). At Elmer’s request there will no formal visitation. However family and friends are welcome to attend the Funeral Service which will be held from Edith Avenue Baptist Church on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in the United Baptist Cemetery, Wirral, NB in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances to Edith Avenue Baptist Church, Camp Tulakadik or the East Saint John Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
